Giacomo (Jack) Mattioli immigrated from Abruzzo, Italy and began to work in the concrete industry.
Jack partnered with Felix Padula to form Padula-Mattioli Cement. They mainly focused on residential projects.
Jack and Felix decided to form their own separate companies. Mattioli Cement, now run by Jack Mattioli, focused on pool decks, custom patios, and commercial floors.
Bob Mattioli (Jack's brother) bought into the company. Throughout the '70s, the company slowly transitioned into municipal work.

Alfred and John Mattioli (Jack's sons) start working for their father in the summers and begin learning the business.
Bob Mattioli leaves Mattioli Cement to form his own concrete company. At this point, 90% of Mattioli Cement projects are municipal contracts consisting of sidewalks, ADA ramps, and paving jobs.
Alfred and John join Jack as partners in the business. Alfred managed the removal and set up crews, while Jack and John focused on pouring and finishing the concrete.
After 40 years in the business, Jack decides to retire. This led to Alfred and John buying the company from Jack and forming Mattioli Cement Co. LLC. Alfred and John continue to run the business to this day.
Mattioli Cement receives an Award of Excellence from the Michigan Concrete Association for their work on Novi Neighborhood Road Program.
